Abstract

Tool wear is a common problem in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathe machining. This problem can affect the quality of the parts produced, increase machine downtime and generate additional costs due to the need to replace worn tools frequently. This error must be manually compensated for in the CNC's own wear tables.
